Filmforum, Germany/Switzerland 2009, 82 Min.
Lillian Boutté, Dr. Michael White and Armand "Sheik" Richardson use jazz to combat the need that New Orleans is left after three years of negligence since it was hit first by hurricane Gustav and then by hurricane Katrina. The film accompanies them on their travels abroad and back again, telling of how the music that was created by need has the power to overcome the crisis currently threatening to destroy the city and its unique culture. The film was awarded the prize for Best International Documentary Film in Zurich this October.
