Pete the Heat

Paradise is called San Pigro and is situated on the border of the Carribbean. The natives call their island the "island of the lazy", as even the mangos weigh up to two kilos. And if you're still hungry, you just crack open a fresh coconut at the beach. After he ruptures a cruciate ligament, the unemployed BMX pro Pete knows exactly where he's heading. And Rico, his Reeperbahn friend with a criminal record, is easily convinced of the prospect of never having to work again. All they need now, is a boat to take them 8,000 km across the Atlantic. Which is to be contributed by Ralf, a shipbuilder from Hamburg Harbour with a taste for rock'n'roll lifestyles. Sadly, such a ship doesn't come for free, and step by step, the friends plunge half of Hamburg into chaos in order to finally get away ... Director and scriptwriter Henna Peschel abducts his audience into the remote corners of Hamburg's free-harbour and into the dankest cellars of Hamburg-St. Pauli that have most probably never been filmed before.
