The godly state of Iran up close. Beyond standard prejudices, this documentary portrays five people in Teheran and how each lives his very different everyday life. A passionate female fencer and singer, a preacher, a computer expert and a young girl, all of whom either struggle against the harshness of Iranian laws or pursue everyday dreams and worries. The look behind the scenes of this Islamic state is mostly concerned with the question of what it means to the local people to live a self-determined life without getting into conflict with religious laws. They live in a constant conflict between compulsion and desire – between patriotism and the unsatisfied longing for freedom.
