Bis zum Ellenbogen

Bis zum Ellenbogen

The summer of 2006. While the whole of Germany has nothing but football on their minds, two people crash into each other in the Swiss Alps: Achim, venturesome young manager of a shipping line and Willi, imaginative bon vivant. The trenches separating their worlds are clear from the start. Only the peace-loving Sven, bank employee from Sylt, brings about a ceasefire between the two over wine and cheese in his alpine cottage. However, an unlucky accident causes the untimely death of Sven. Now Achim and Willi have a problem: where to dispose of the body? Before his death Sven told them a lot of things: about his superior at the bank, about a load of illegal earnings and a key to access them. In the midst of World Cup fever Achim and Willi travel from the Swiss Alps to the North Sea in the company of Sven’s corpse. On the island of Sylt, Sven is to wave to his boss one last time before receiving a burial at sea at Ellenbogen as he had requested. But there’s a twist: while money doesn’t stink, as they say in Germany, Sven does! Justus von Dohnányi realized this strange trip across Germany with a low budget and much talent for improvisation.
