Dörrling works in one of the world’s toughest professions. Theoretically, he could change his job, if he could do anything other than what he thinks he can do: writing. Dörrling is an author. He writes screenplays. His favourite genre is black comedy. His latest project is “The Crisis”. According to his editor, it is “neither funny nor black”. Time to take a new approach: researching into the funeral industry. But then Dörrling makes three mistakes at once. He falls in love with the undertaker’s daughter, introduces her to his best friend, and writes a funeral eulogy for his father. The potential for conflict in the first two mistakes is obvious. The third mistake is that Dörrling’s father is neither dead nor missing nor otherwise absent. Will these mistakes spell the end for Dörrling or will he succeed in one of the world’s toughest professions? After all, there are so many other jobs around …
