Zuneigung – Die Filmemacherin Gisela Tuchtenhagen

Her attitude is reflected in her work. This film looks at the checkered life of Gisela Tuchtenhagen, who became one of the first camerawomen in the 1970s. We visit the key places of her past, from her dark childhood days in a 1950s reform school to her wild teenage years in Paris. Gisela Tuchtenhagen has transformed her innermost desires into a source of positive energy. She explains that expressing herself through photography and film has helped her to survive. Flashbacks to her student days in Berlin and her career working alongside her teacher Klaus Wildenhahn, who later became her partner, are juxtaposed with diary texts, film quotes and contemporary scenes. Together, these fragments create a complex portrait of a woman whose creative sensibilities are inextricable linked with her biography.
