This year for the sixth time, the “Lübeck Film Studies Colloquium” will be held in collaboration with the Journal of Scandinavian Cinema and the Retrospective of the Nordische Filmtage Lübeck.
The 6th edition of the Lübeck Film Studies Colloquium is dedicated to two main topics. The first, “Spies & Espionage” combines the theme of this year‘s retrospective “Undercover North/Northeast” with the new special issue of the Journal of Scandinavian Cinema on secret agents and espionage activities in the Nordic countries. The second focus – “Scandi-German Exchanges” – investigates connections and collaborations between the film cultures of Germany and Scandinavia, especially in the early film era.
In addition, seminar groups and panel discussions with selected guests of the 61st Nordische Filmtage Lübeck will be dedicated to talking about current issues in modern cinema. The colloquium is organized in cooperation with the Journal of Scandinavian Cinema and is directed at (film) students and people interested in film history. The journal’s editor Anders Marklund, professor at Lund University, will be joined by other speakers.
