Photographer Richard Fleischhut’s Northern Journeys (1925) - From the family holdings of Ingrid Peckskamp-Lürssen, Berlin
Norway was already a popular travel destination in the Roaring Twenties. Luxury cruises to barren polar regions were particular attractions. This exhibit shows a selection of historical nature photos by cruise photographer Richard Fleischhut (1881-1951). During an exclusive polar journey on the Lloyd steamer “München” in 1925, he took spectacular photos which served as both souvenirs for the travellers, and as advertisements
for the shipping company.
