The 52nd Nordic Film Days Lübeck has come to their end, boasting record audience figures. An audience of around 27,000 attended the film screenings and supporting programme of the renowned festival, thus topping last year's figure of 24,000. "The main reason for this result lies in the addition of the Kolosseum as a new screening venue," says Angela Buske, General Manager of Nordic Film Days Lübeck. "The citizens of Lübeck have once again demonstrated their great love for Nordic cinema and have filled the Hanseatic city's auditoriums."
"Nordic Film Days Lübeck has once again proved to be one of the cultural highlights of both Lübeck and Northern Europe," says Bernd Saxe, Mayor of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. "Film festivals of international significance require a red carpet, and so I am very pleased that the festival management has already announced another glorious Film Prize Night for the coming year."
Lutz Marmor, NDR Director General, emphasises the successful cooperation between NDR and the film festival. "In donating the NDR Award for Best Feature Film we have been contributing to the Nordic Film Days' attractiveness for 20 years now. And in spite of the need to economize we will continue our commitment into the next year," says Marmor. "Scandinavian film and the NDR - a perfect team!"
