Short and sweet: the Short Film Night

This year’s programme of short films at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck is small but perfectly formed. The selection of dramas, comedies and documentaries from the Nordic and Baltic countries includes some real gems. “Sniffer”, a spaced-out sci-fi vision by Norwegian Bobbie Peers, won the Palme d’Or at Cannes, while Sweden’s Jonas Odell won a Golden Bear at the Berlinale for his offbeat sex-talk “Never Like the First Time!”. Both these films have been nominated for this year’s UIP Prize of the European Film Academy, which will be presented in Warsaw on 2 December, and both are screening together with eight further shorts at the highly popular Short Film Night on Saturday, 4 November, starting at 11 pm in CineStar Kino 3 + 4.
