Frida is a nasty girl and Marius is a nice boy. She is the school’s scream queen, he’s the model student. They would have continued to avoid each other at all costs if the teacher had not suggested they work together on a project. His hope, of course, was that Marius would have a positive influence on misfit Frida. But, in fact, it’s the other way around. The good boy imperceptibly falls in love with the psychologically unstable girl. In the end, instead of taking clever Lea to the prom, Marius is faced with potential disciplinary action for vandalism … “Psychobitch” demonstrates in an enjoyable, yet serious manner that it can sometimes be a very good thing to march to the beat of a different drummer. The audience’s sympathy for unconventional doings is garnered not least of all by Elli Rhiannon Müller Osborne in the title role, the young actress who left an indelible impression in Erik Poppe’s “U – July 22” (NFL 2018).
