The Fredrikstad Animation Festival is the leading animation festival in the Nordic region, held each October in the town of Fredrikstad, near Oslo. One of the festival’s cornerstones is the Nordic-Baltic animated short film competition, with the award of the prize known as the Golden Gunnar. The festival is a professional arena for the animation industry, as well as an important event for students and educational institutions in the fields of animation, graphic design, and digital media production. In cooperation with the Fredrikstad Animation Festival, the NFL will be showing the freshly-crowned winners of the Golden Gunnar for Best Nordic-Baltic animated short film and Golden Gunnar Grand Prix.
