A cinematic reflection on human life in all of its beauty and bestiality, all of its splendour and simplicity. In “About Endlessness”, a dauntless narrator takes us by the hand and lets us wander in a dreamlike state. Seemingly trifling moments intensify into images of time and end up on equal footing with historic events. A pair of lovers float over war-torn Cologne; heading to a child’s birthday party, a father must tie his daughter’s shoes in the middle of a downpour; young girls begin to dance in front of a café, and a defeated army dejectedly marches to a POW camp. The film is both an ode and a lament, a kaleidoscope of everything that is eternally human, a never-ending story about the vulnerability of our existence. It won the Silver Lion for Best Direction in Venice in 2019.
The Screenings on november 2nd at Cinestar 3 and on november 3rd at CineStar 4 will be with german subtitles.
