In the winter of 1999, an aged man named Trond thinks back to the summer of '48, which he spent with his father in a cabin in the forest. He was 15 at the time. He spent the days with a neighbouring boy, making carefree forays into the highlands near the Swedish border. But then came the first blows in life – calamities that leave emotional scars and bring feelings of guilt in their wake. Added to that is the tender feeling of love for a neighbouring woman – and an invincible rival for her affections, his own father, who feels a bond with her because they were both in the resistance during the German occupation ... In Hans Petter Moland's film adaptation of the bestseller, the artistry of Per Petterson's cleverly constructed coming-of-age novel merges supremely with the natural beauty of the breathtaking landscape shots. For his outstanding artistic achievement, the cinematographer Rasmus Videbæk received a Silver Bear at the Berlinale.

The Screenings on october 31st at Kolosseum and on november 3rd at CineStar 2 will be with german subtitles.
