Kristin Dibelius’ (Katja Riemann) husband left her and their son many years ago without saying a word. By now, David is 21 years old and he’s been rejecting any contact from his mother for two years. Their routine, which consists of them living ghostly parallel in their shared apartment, is suddenly interrupted when Kristin unexpectedly loses her job at the bank. Devastated and fearing to lose David just as speechlessly as she had lost her husband, she decides on a risky strategy: Anonymously, she establishes contact with David in an internet forum in which he is active. Suddenly everything seems easy, and they discover similarities and share emotions. The daily chats become longingly awaited events. In her euphoric state, Kristin doesn’t realize that her son is falling in love with her alter ego.
