"Sara and Amida are all too familiar with the feeling when their debit card is rejected at the supermarket check-out. Amida dropped out of school; Sara gets by as a small-time dealer. They’re both sick of life in their welfare housing. The pimped-out cars, the drugged up kids, Amida’s debt to the local gang boss Hassan – it’s giving both of them a headache. And all they need is a rigged shopping bag to show up in expensive clothing and gain admittance to the ‘high society’ celebrating at Stockholm’s Stureplan Square. But are the egos there really less obsessed with possessions? With rapid-fire editing, the film starts as a gangster movie and becomes more of a social commentary – an unsparing criticism of a society utterly devoted to material things. At the same time, it’s a call for the antidote – girl power and unconditional togetherness."
