88-year-old Ukrainian veteran Anatoly has told his 18-year-old adoptive grandson Artiom all about the life of a soldier. Yet one day before Artiom wants to go to war as a volunteer, Anatoly is no longer sure whether he should really let him go. As he tries to discover why Artiom wants to fight, he films final scenes with his camera.
