Three children between six and fourteen tell about their escapes from Iran, Afghanistan, and Guinea. Their stories are part of an art therapy programme in the refugee clinic of the University Medical Center in Hamburg. For their protection, the children in the film use invented symbols: butterfly, camel, and 50 Cent. Their drawings, photos, and collages serve as the basis for the film’s animation.
