Elide is tormented by longing for her twin sister Elise. Deeply affected by her loss, she confuses reality and fantasy. Soon Elide begins to see her sister, and to imitate her. Everything centres on a single traumatic moment. “Explosions in the Heart” depicts grief, and the attempt to overcome it, through associative images.
