Jeppe is a talented basketball player, full of hope, handsome and sensitive. When he sees his new classmate Cecilie for the first time, the rest of the world disappears for a moment. The two become close. On the basketball court after their first evening at the movies together, Jeppe promises Cecilie that if you can sink a basket with your eyes closed, your wish will be fulfilled. She makes a shot; he misses. The tender romance quickly develops into something more serious. But Jeppe doesn’t yet realise how serious it is – Cecilie has cancer. The two hold fast to their love. This film of beautifully composed imagery is a story of the great, but far too brief happiness of two young people in love. Cecilie later asks her friend what he wished for on the basketball court. “To be with you forever”, says Jeppe.
