Moscow, 1936. Stalin’s terror sweeps through the country. The survival of pathologist Abrikosov depends on the corpse of Lenin in its glass coffin, which he must keep continually fresh. Yet while they’re preparing for the May Day celebrations of all days, his assistant makes a disastrous mistake. This masterfully directed black comedy plays artfully with Soviet clichés.
