Detective inspector Robert Anders is called to the scene when a pair of young lovers are found shot to death. There are no valuables with the body and initial suspicion is a robbery gone brutally wrong. But Anders is sceptical. He suspects that the robbery was staged to cover up the real motive for the crime. He finds out that the dead woman was the victim of stalking. But Andy Torwald, her stalker, doesn’t want anything to do with the matter. The scene of the crime was also the site of another murder years ago. Back then, it was the wife of choirmaster Daniel Norén who was killed, with teacher Birger Karlström becoming the prime suspect. Clues in this new case also seem to point to Karlström. But what could be his motive? Anders is deeply absorbed in his work and doesn’t at first notice that his wife is in extreme danger.
