Set in 2014 Istanbul in a time of political unrest, the film tells the story of young x-ray technician Asli, who provides safe harbour for a demonstrator fleeing the police. Her actions place her family in the authorities’ crosshairs and when Asli refuses to cooperate with them, it causes intense conflict with her husband. The film was awarded the golden Student Oscar 2015.
