When her younger sister Johanna was diagnosed with bone cancer, actress Katharina Uhland took up a camera to try to cope with the incomprehensible news. For a year, she filmed Johanna as her sister went through chemotherapy and radiation. In the hospital, they meet 28-year-old Nadine, who also has bone cancer. Johanna and Nadine are united by their fate and their sense of humour and Nadine helps Katharina better understand the disease. The two sisters meet Nadine’s son Bendix and the “Chemo Knights”, and go to a children’s carnival celebration together. This powerful film is infused with the energy and will to survive of the young women, and it shows that cancer, despite its drastic nature and the intensity of the experience, can sometimes change life for the better. A strong appearance.
