In the wake of a nervous breakdown, former ski star Jomar Henriksen works as a guard at a ski resort. But rather than issue ski passes or do maintenance work on the ski lift, Jomar spends his time drinking and lazing about. But when a friend tells him he is father to a child up in the high north, Jomar leaves behind his dissolute lifestyle and sets out northwards – alone on his snowmobile and carrying nothing in the way of provisions except five litres of alcohol. On his long travels, Jomar will have memorable encounters with military tanks, dangerous tunnels, a chained-up Sami, full fridges in empty houses and inventive ways of getting drunk – and ultimately perhaps, even his own child. This absurd and laconic feature film debut by Rune Denstad Langlo is a notable work of outdoor cinematic fun – Sisyphus in the deep snow!
