Two young women are determined to do it their way. In the high school graduation photos, they are wearing colourful clothing, and they are not interested in university or vocational training. Instead Sophie and Alice are headed to Berlin to try their luck. At least, that’s the plan they’ve been working on for ages. But then there’s Arvid, who has long yearned to be friends with Sophie, and a letter from the university. Sophie’s dithering makes Alice angry. The two girls fight and suddenly Alice is nowhere to be found and Sophie senses that something is wrong. She decides to trace Alice’s last movements and leaves the rural paradise of southern Sweden to suddenly find herself in a completely strange big city. She becomes aware of how different her impulsive best friend always was and, in the end, begins to change herself.
