Einar has cancer. It has metastasised from his prostate to his spinal cord and is in an advanced stage. Einar, who once worked as a psychotherapist, is now himself facing a situation that is difficult to accept. A tumour that he can’t see is forcing him to undergo therapy that is completely changing his body. So Einar does what he’s always done when facing a problem – he takes off. He walks for as long and far as his body will allow it, following one pilgrimage route after the next in Spain. His actions make the situation more difficult for his relatives, but Einar only feels like himself when he’s in motion. At the same time, he must come to terms with the fact that he can’t escape approaching death. The film is a sensitive documentary about somebody who, with enormous thought but also great sadness, accepts the certainty that he will soon cease to exist.
