Sigrid, a 23-year-old literature student, is rather lonely. Holed up in her attic, she writes a poem about a film cliché. She is determined never to end up draped in a man’s shirt on some “morning after”. Then she meets the famous author Kåre. Trine, a performance artist, is nine months pregnant. She is looking for a job and a project for her next exhibition. So she thinks, why not turn the birth into a performance? Agnes was once considered a promising young writer. But after her first book she had a baby, gave it up for adoption, and never wrote another line again. Now she feels old, supervising the packaging of rolling pins for a living. Like the original novel, this fast-paced film follows the three strong women’s convergent paths, setting up spot-on situational comedy without shrinking away from the broader questions of life.
