In search of companionship, love and sex, 13 golden-agers try speed dating. In an atmosphere of refinement, the ladies and gentlemen have seven minutes to get to know each person across the table. Johann finds it “very fast” and would just as soon leave right away. Kurt, too, is only there because his mate Volker dragged him along. The male contingent is rounded out by a retired teacher, a Russian romantic and merry (ol’) Hartmut. There are more woman than men, but only because Hilde came along to watch her son, who organised the whole thing, at work. The other golden girls are here for the men – Clara is looking for a travel companion and Edith wants a partner who has money. Martha yearns to be touched, while Christa needs a man who is livelier, in every sense of the word, than her husband. Each to her own. As Lena reads her own poetry aloud, the distinguished Maria is cautious.
