Natt til 17.Eine Nacht in Oslo / One Night in Oslo

Children´s and Youth Films, Norway 2014, 99 Min., engl. ST, 14 years and older

The night before Norwegian Independence Day, Thea has the house to herself and plans to throw a wild party. Of course the boys’ clique wants in on the action. In the afternoon, they sort out alcohol and agree on which of the girls they will each go for. But there’s one thing that Sam needs to confess to his best mate Amir, his partner in crime whom he loves like a brother. He’s recently fooled around with Thea, Amir’s ex-girlfriend, whom Amir was actually hoping to win back that night. Amir’s reaction is intense and he keeps doing things to disrupt the epic night of partying until it culminates in violence and destruction. Will that be the last straw for Sam and Amir’s friendship? In this ambitious drama about love, friendship, pain and youth, Svensson paints nuanced portraits of a diverse range of characters without resorting to clichés.
