Antti and Muhis live in Herttoniemi, Helsinki’s oldest collection of periphery housing estates, where social conflicts are the order of the day. One day as they’re sitting on the bluffs, a drunk accosts them. In the skirmish that follows, the interloper plummets into the sea. Both young people are convinced they’ve killed him. They feel guilty, but make a pact to keep quiet. The victim is known in the local radical right scene and he’s also the father of one of their classmates. The right-wing faction in the housing project blames the Somalis for the crime. As hostilities escalate on both sides of the divide, and Antti realizes that his mother’s new boyfriend is one of the leaders of the racists, Antti and Muhis friendship is also put to the test. At first, they make plans to flee to Denmark, before eventually realising that they must face up to the situation.
