Lukas, Syvert and Torgeir dream of becoming successful ballet dancers. They practise hard every day. The filmmaker followed the three friends for four years as they make the transition to the professional dance world. The young men give up virtually all of their time in pursuit of their dream. They travel to competitions in France or Sweden and face off against stiff competition. And when they all audition for the Norwegian academy of dance, the three friends become each other’s rivals. Then Lukas gets an unexpected invitation to audition for the Royal Ballet School in London and it becomes clear to the trio that this could be the end of their friendship. This is an open and sensitive film about the permanent tension, the daily failures, the tears and the joy – and it also gives the protagonists room to reflect. An affectionate film about friendship, ambition, identity and passion.
