She is a young teacher, 30-years-old, engaged and soon to be married to a pastor. He is 15, physically and emotionally well developed for his age, and he is one of her students. To have a relationship with him is a crime. But perhaps it’s love. In a monologue, the woman speaks of her fascination with her student, of her feelings and her internal conflict. She describes in minute detail how the impossible relationship developed and tells of the reaction of those around her and the consequences she had to bear. The film is based on true events and was originally staged by director Dag Johan Haugerud for a theatre festival. Andrea Bræin Hovig is brilliant as the teacher, lending nuance and subtle humour to the rhythm and body language of this woman giving the most intimate of confessions.
