Into the White

Into the White

Special, Norway 2012, 98 Min.

Two fighter-bombers shoot each other down in an air-battle over the Norwegian mountains. Three German survivors seek shelter from an approaching blizzard in an empty cabin, where they are soon joined by two British pilots. Initially the British are treated as prisoners by the Germans - until the warring parties must accept the fact that they must work together if they are to prevent the sheltering roof from collapsing on top of them. Based on true events, Peter Næss has staged a gripping intimate play with an international cast that unveils the absurdity of militant conflicts. “Into the White” features fascinating, impressive landscapes in the snowy mountains of Norway, as well as exceptional acting performances by Florian Lukas (“Goodbye, Lenin!”) and Rupert Grint (“Harry Potter”).
