The documentary film accompanies Brazilian travelling poets on their voyage through the Sertão, the Brazilian backcountry, one of the world's poorest regions. Equipped with poetry and songs of love, politics, murder and miracles, these poets provide rare and welcome entertainment for the inhabitants in their dismal everyday lives.
