Polizeiruf 110: FischerkriegAlarm 110: Fisherwar

Filmforum, Germany 2012, 90 Min.

War has been waging in Warnemünde ever since a Polish trawler began using nets that were way too tightly knotted, thus thoughtlessliy fishing up German fishermen's livelihood. One morning Paul Thomsen is discovered executed on the quai. He was the only one to openly defy the Polish competitors. The case seems perfectly clear to the enraged fisherman Ronny Brandt, but police investigator Katrin König and superintendent Alexander Bukow prove the Poles to be innocent. Instead, suspicions arise as to the innocence of Alexander Bokw's father, who seems to be the contracting entity behind the illegal fishing. Further irritation is caused by the journalist Nina Berger, who is working on a story about human trafficking and also incriminates Veit Bukow. His son is taken off the case, but continues to investigate on his own initiative. Nevertheless it is Katrin König who discovers the deciding piece of evidence.
