The single mother Silvia tries to cadge some poison off her ex-lover; the uptight, oldest son Carl, still postponing his coming-out indefinitely, develops a highly complex death trap at the DIY store; the bohemian Hugo chooses means he has expert knowledge of: sex and drugs. Their frenzied activities are interrupted by the arrival of the unknowing favourite daughter Elisabeth, who has vowed to therapeutically heal the entire family.
