Lucas works as a pedagogue in a kindergarten. He is divorced and soon his adolescent son Marcus will move back in with him. Klara, the daughter of Lucas' best friend Theo, is at the kindergarten and is fond of Lucas. When he reproves the little girl for something, she reacts in her own manner. But when Klara speaks to Grethe, the kindergarten director, things take on a whole new dimension. Grethe reaches her own conclusions, a psychologist questions the child, and Lucas is suspected of molesting her. A chain of events is triggered, further parents make accusations, the police begins to investigate. Lucas is stunned, he professes his innocence, but everyone tunrs against him. Only Bruun, Marcus' godfather, and his son abide by him. Soon Marcus is also caught up in the maelstrom of events. The situation escalates and becomes increasingly menacing. Soon Lucas is fighting for more than just his reputation.
