Right after Jan and Sarah Fischer have collected Raju, their four-year-old adopted child, from a Calcuttan orphanage, he disappears without trace. When Jan stumbles on a first trace, he realizes that the adoption is part of the problem. The married couple is confronted with a serious moral issue.
