Football, of all things! Back in Stockholm, Lucas used to play in a band and hadn't the slightest interest in football. But now that he and his mother have moved to the small Norwegian town of Grimsrud, Lucas longs to stand on the pitch with the local team. The reason is that Lucas has fallen in love with Susanne. And Susanne is the girls team's goalie. After a couple of training units with the coach's overweight son, Lucas is at least permitted to join the two teams to the Norway Cup as a reserve player. Once in Oslo, Lucas tries to hit it off with Susanne, even though her boyfriend Petter is a centre forward and an opponent to be beckoned with. But Lucas has learnt this much about football: The most successful moves are the ones from the second row ... "Cupid's Balls" is set against the authentic backdrop of the world's largest football tournament. This - and the young cast's convincing teamwork - make the film a free flowing combination of romanitc comedy and sports documentary.
