Någon annanstans i Sverige

On the way to see his parents, who live in a small town somewhere in Sweden, Stefan pulls in at a motorway restaurant where he notices two suspicious-looking men. One of them he believes to be an old fellow pupil, whom he himself used to bully in his childhood days. What he doesn't know is that the two men are also on their way to the same town, where they are planning to commit a burglary. At the same time, Anneli, the local policeman's wife, must defend herself against brutal attacks by her husband. The three protagonists' lives cross in one fateful night - with lethal consequences. "Somewhere Else" is based on a novel by Hans Gunnarsson, who also wrote the screenplays to the NFL successes "Evil" and "The King of Ping Pong". The multi-layered social drama dissects provincial life while taking on board elements of the crime story and absurd comedy. It stars two of Sweden's most famous actors: Mikael Persbrandt and Helena Bergström.
