Jeg reiser alene

Jarle is a student and is highly content with his life of literary theory, parties and love affairs. But one day he receives a letter that puts an abrupt end to life as he knows it. The letter states that he is father to a daughter. Charlotte Isabel is to spend one week, including her eighth birthday, at his place. Such is the mother's wish, a one night stand from adolescent days who now works in a supermarket and desperately wants to go on holiday for once. "Lotte" is everything but pleased when she sees her new dad and his messy student's apartment full of books and cigarettes. Jarle, too, does everything in his power to avert his newly acquired educational duties. But while Lotte turns his life upside-down and his friends discuss the power of biology, he grows increasingly fond of the girl. Spiced with a large pinch of humour, "I Travel Alone" thoroughly dissects what is generally considered family, and reassembles what may belong together after all. Unorthodox and very likeable cinema fun from Norway.
