Jarle is a student and is highly content with his life of literary theory, parties and love affairs. But one day he receives a letter that puts an abrupt end to life as he knows it. The letter states that he is father to a daughter. Charlotte Isabel is to spend one week, including her eighth birthday, at his place. Such is the mother's wish, a one night stand from adolescent days who now works in a supermarket and desperately wants to go on holiday for once.
