Kotirauha

Sami Luoto - married, one daughter - works in real estate. But business isn't going well. One object isn't selling, another can't be financed. The bank is refusing to give any more credit, and Sami is forced to let his employees go. He is still keeping it a secret from his wife and daughter, from his older brother and his oh so successful father, but - he is bankrupt. When the indebted Sami falls victim to a hired thug, his brother-in-law Jere wants to take vengeance, but completely overshoots the mark ... Aleksi Mäkelä, the Finnish cinema audience's favourite director, gives a striking account of the consequences of the financial crisis for a family man who falls victim to a downward spiral of violence ... until he is wondrously saved by a family safety net. "Home Sweet Home" is a family drama and a thriller. As in his previous films "The Tough Ones" (NFL 1999) and "Hellsinki" (NFL 2009), Aleksi Mäkelä combines a depiction of the social status quo with thrills and Finnish humour.
