Grønland lies in Oslo – it is the immigrant quarter in the east of Norway's capital. It is also home to Ohna from Vietnam, whose family runs the "Saigon House" restaurant. But one day the restaurant is closed by the police. The business inspectorate found drugs in the cellar. The police arrest Ohna's older brother Yahn, who now faces a 20-year jail sentence for dealing drugs. Ohna, however, is convinced of his innocence: Together with her girlfriends Maja and Rikke, the twelve-year-old intends to catch the real dealer ... "East End Angels" is a children's crime thriller with all the trimmings, full of wild chases and karate tricks. But human relationships play an equally important role. Director Lars Berg has taken just as professional an approach to the depiction of the girls' friendship and everyday life in the multicultural quarter as he has to the action scenes. The same thing he says about his girl trio applies to himself: "These girls rule their turf!" – The film actually has a moral, too: Whoever serves their customers convenience food is capable of anything!
