Four friends, two boys and two girls, are on a camping holiday at a remote lake in Finland. They bathe and tease and have minor fights that illustrate their problems and inhibitions. As the end of their holiday approaches, the campers have learned something about life and their own inner feelings. Inspired by the French "nouvelle vague" movement, Mikko Niskanen's beautiful summer romance was received as "a stylistically modern and sensitive film" (Ulrich Gregor) with surprisingly revealing erotic scenes, and was praised by both the audience and the critics alike. The film incorporates scenes of untouched wilderness as a matter of course without going overboard on portentous allegories, thus maintaining its carefree holiday atmosphere. And last but not least, the omni-present pop appeal of this film, co-produced by Jörn Donner, is reinforced by a live appearance of the now legendary beat band "The Creatures" at a forest party.
