Eight years ago, Thomas kidnapped a little boy. Back then, the boy died. In the meantime, Thomas has been to prison, from which he has just been released on bail. Having become a good organist whilst in jail, Thomas gets a job in a church. Here he meets Anna, the local vicar and a single mother. Cautiously, and hesitantly at first, the two of them begin a love affair. However, Thomas does not tell her about his past; while becoming best friends with Anna's little son, Jens. One day, Jens is gone.
