Latvian and Russian women of different age groups and differing social backgrounds speak about the course of time, discuss Latvian identity and the integration of the Russians, about men, love and faith. They share memories and thoughts, fears and weaknesses. They curse and fight, ponder and philosophize. The experienced filmmaker Jana Marsik portrays teenagers from Riga's Russian quarter, tramway ticket inspectors, flower ladies, artists and old women who survived the gulags. They all allow for entertaining insight into the thoughts and lives in a border region of European self-perception.
