Kein Kinderspiel

The retired teacher Arno Havemann wants to become a father for the first time in his life, in the hope of putting some late sense into his life. His partner Dorothea Behrens reacts somewhat coolly, as she is no longer able to have children. When he meets the 30-year old, paraplegic Helene, who would also like to put some sense into her life by means of a child, the two of them embark on a "temporary and emotionally limited procreation relationship". Helene dies during childbirth, and Arno can only overcome his sense of guilt with the help of Dorothea, who not only forgives him, but takes on the role of mother. This new, independent production by director Bernd Fiedler, formed according to his own "Drehbank" concept, is a full-length feature film full of powerful scenes and frothing with emotion, made with minimal financial means and self-constructed, creative technology.
