In the middle of her father’s birthday party, Caroline receives a message that her sister has died in a car accident in South Africa. Caroline immediately leaves for Cape Town in order to take care of all the necessary formalities and stand by her brother-in-law Sven. But in South Africa things begin to get more complicated than anticipated, until she has her first doubts: an insurance detective is looking for clues to a possible murder, the dead sister’s friends in Cape Town are growing increasingly reserved and by and by Caroline learns of her brother-in-law’s semi-legal business transactions. The city between the oceans provides the breathtaking backdrop for a long and dangerous search for truth.
