Hölle Hamburg

In Hamburg Harbour a ship has been abandoned by its owners. The crew – cell of a mysterious secret sailor’s cult, Residium of the Comintern Marine Apparatus – uses old secret techniques, the communist Agitprop of the dissolved organization of 1943 and obsessive trance techniques to make contact with the ghost squads of the Comintern who have taken possession of a documentary filmmaker’s mind. The latter, a medium in the sailors’ cult of the possessed, oscillates between her everyday world and a dreamy-wild ghost world in which everything is different than it seems, until she loses herself in the collective: “What’s that supposed to be, anyway: me. You’re not your own possession. That you’ll only be when the revolution has succeeded.”
